Here is a nice honest example of a vintage Citizen Cosmotron. A watch series that I personally like because you can get some really bright colours, crazy dials and facet crystals. All the things that ironically this one does not have! I was drawn to this one because it has a nice chapter ring that draws your eye more into the dial which has a vertically grained pattern.
The watch is all as it was new and its nice to see the original bracelet still with the watch as often these are long gone.
Inside its powered by a 7802 electronic balance wheel movement from the early 70s, just as quartz were becoming a real thing. The movement is all mechanical other than it has a circuit board, coil and powered by a battery. There is no quartz though. Circuit sends a pulse to the coil which is fitted between a double wheel balance wheel which has magnets on it. The pulse from the coil reacts with the magnet to spin the balance wheel which in turn turns a star shaped wheel that then powers the train. Its absolutely amazing really as its powered backwards compared to a mainspring movement.
These are beating at 36,000 beats per hour but weirdly the second hand is not as smooth as you would think. It a trait of the movement in general rather than this specific watch.
In essence you get a mechanical smooth tick watch that will always tell the right time. I can see the logic in why they were invented.
A nice genre of watch to have in your collection. (also see my Seiko Elnix watches)
I have checked this watch over and its running fine. I have cleaned and oiled all pivots and balance wheel and greased the keyless works. New crystal has been fitted along with caseback and crown gaskets. Its all running well and ready for a new owner.

from 15 reviewsThe T-shirt was perfect and love your stuff on YouTube!

Ultimately, there's not much to say.
The watch matches the description exactly and is in perfect condition.
I could have bought it directly from the manufacturer, but now I have a piece of the canal that I love to watch so much to calm down after a long day of work.
Great memory.
All the best, Mike!!!
You are a great person.

I love Seiko Automatic watches and this one is no exception. I have 2 Seiko 6139, a Pepsi and a Pogue, as well as a 6138 Bullhead, each of which I wore for several years until they stopped working. Unfortunately I'm only a mechanic, not a watchmaker. The smallest screws I have to deal with are M2, smaller is ant poop to me. My local watchmaker here in Vienna told me, a service would be at least €600, and others came up with similar prices. When I saw you selling some serviced watches at reasonable prices I just could not resist. Thank you for giving me onother fantastic daily Seiko!

I love the DIY diver options. This was one I did not have. Arrived on time and running excellent. Thank you.

I gave this to my father for his 74th birthday. I got some of my interest in watches from him, and he has a good sense of humor, so I thought he'd appreciate the joke. He loves it and put it on as soon as I gave it to him.

Since getting this comfortable hoodie, I've mostly worn it in my overly-cold office building, where I appreciate its warmth. My co-workers have asked about the diver design, but I tell them it's meant to be mysterious!

This is where I was supposed to put text, but I am just too old to use this itty bitty keyboard on my Dick Tracy communicator device.

The extender worked just big enough for my wrist.

The Hisonic is an awesome watch, I love have something rare with a exciting history. The humming and smooth seconds movement makes me smile everytime I look at it, mostly not for checking time.
I have bought 3 vintage watches here and they are all in a super condition, still having small scratches, as they should have, showing love from previous owners. Buying Vintage watches is a bit like the lottery, as you don't know the service condition or how they run, all sellers claim it runs fine.
But buying here you have this extra assurance, as all vintage watches have been serviced before the are sold, and you can see the watch service craftmanship, by just looking at a few Youtube videos from the seller. The love for watches also shines through by the quick and nice answers you get on your questions related to the particular watch.
So having fair prices on watches that has either been serviced or are almost new, makes this site one of the best places to buy Vintage watches.

That 1974 Seiko Actus I got was the cats meow. It is much prettier in person than the pictures give it credit. I really learn a lot from watching your channel because of the details and quality of your videos.
Thank you
