Citizen Cosmotron GX Tuning Fork Watch 1970s

Here is your chance to pick up a rare Citizen Cosmotron GX. This is a lesser known model from Citizen that is powered by a tuning fork movement!  Citizen used Bulova 218 tuning fork movements in the Hisonic range but the Cosmotron is best known for the hybrid electronic balance watches.  The GX though has a tuning fork movement with only one coil that is on the left hand side of the movement making it their own design as the 219 Bulova was on the right.  Most of the components are still the same though. You really do not see these watches often and in some ways this is a reluctant sale but it was bought to repair and pass on so I must stick to my plan! Tuning fork movements have a super smooth tick to the second hand and a audible hum as it vibrates. 

Watch has a stunning green dial that really catches the light, a proper 70s blast of colour.  The only down side is there is a small scratch on the dial by the 1 o'clock position, not caused by me I will say.  Watch has a day and date complication where the date has quickset but the day does not. New genuine Citizen crystal has been fitted to show of that dial in all its glory.  Movement has been stripped down, cleaned and rebuild and phased and now it keeps very good time indeed. 

Case has been taken back to its bare components, scrubbed, cleaned and lightly polished before being assembled again. 
I have fitted the watch on a mesh bracelet but I also like it on a green rally strap so I am offering both in this sale so you can change over as you wish for a different look.
New battery fitted a 344.  Unsure the longevity of these as tuning forks to like to use up their batteries! some take 12 months some can last only for 3-4.  Case back is pressed on so either get someone to fit it for you if you cant do it yourself. (or contact myself)
