What a dial!!  This is a lovely example of what the Japanese did best in the 70s.  Colourful and interesting dials.
This greenburst dial changes colour as it moves because the dial has some curved texture and a split across the centreline to give it that effect. It can turn a blueish colour to green in that centre band, extraordinary !

I have had to give this one a lot of love to bring it back to life but I felt it needed to be saved. Starting with the movement. You can see from the movement video in this listing the balance wheel is gold coloured against the silver of the movement.  This balance is from a 7802 Cosmotron,  I have not put this in but a previous repair in Japan.  They are practically the same movement other than the 7802 has a flyback second hand. This balance works fine. Was just interesting to see as I have worked on so many Cosmotron and never seen it before.
Movement has been serviced and is running fine with the watch keeping good time.
The day date complication has a quick set which is operated by pushing the crown in to change the date and then if you rotate the watch so 6 o'clock is at the top, push the crown again and it will change the day.  How cool is that!
I have re-brushed the case and polished the bezel to bring it back to a good standard.  Crystal is glass and I have also refinished this to keep the originality as you cannot find new old stock ones for this model.
The bracelet is not original to the watch but from the same era and I think suits it very well.
A Cosmotron is a must have in anyones collection being from a time when quartz was just emerging and watchmaking was looking at new ways to regulate time.  This watch is powered by a battery that sends current though a circuit to a coil sandwiched under the balance wheel. The wheel has magnets that when the coil pulses react to swing the wheel, this turns another wheel which in some ways you could call an escape wheel, which then turns the train to then tell the time.  It in essence runs totally backwards to a mechanical watch.  For me at least this is so fascinating!

I don't expect this watch to be on the site long so if you like it now is the chance to buy it before someone else does!
