Here is a vintage Avia wristwatch circa 1960s (perhaps)  This has had quite a life but there is something about this watch I like.  Striking roman numerals around the dial and really nice handset that compliments the dial perfectly.  It looks like a mini clock on your arm! There is purposely no running second hand on this one. It is designed to be purely functional and you cant argue with its legibility, this is a very easy to read watch.

The dial has a lot of patina all of it I cannot explain but its part of its history, however it still has plenty of life to give.  It is powered by a hand wound Peseux 320 movement which is 17 jewels.  This movement powers many watches like this one and a movement I am familiar with having featured this on the channel many years ago ironically in another Avia! 
I have serviced this movement and please watch the timegrapher video as its keeping really good time.  There is some positional error but its marginal. The reading surprised me to be so good. Hence why I think this watch still has some more life to give despite its well used appearance. 

Case is plated and this has taken a bit of a beating over the years, especially on the underside where years of use have taken their effect. Personally I think there is a bit of charm about that. Clearly a previous owner loved this watch for years. 

Caseback is stainless steel and its just a friction fit, Crystal is acrylic and also just pushed into the bezel.  This watch will offer no water resistance as there are no gaskets or places to fit gaskets.  That, I think is by design.  Just please be aware of that before purchasing. 

Overall I think this one was worth saving and giving it an opportunity to be back into service on someone's wrist.  For this reason I am just about covering my costs in the price I am asking for it.

Finished off on a brand new 18mm leather strap to complete the look.
